Dwight Howard‘s hope to make an NBA comeback finally saw the light last year. Earlier, there were rumors for the Golden State Warriors to bring Howard back. He had all the skills that could help the Warriors gain a strong place in the Western Conference. However, only a month after the news broke, the 8x NBA All-Star and his fans were hit with another fact. The Warriors ultimately decided against it. Months after the incident, Howard also shared his opinion on the matter. Looking back at the time when he got the call for the deal, Howard recalled having mixed feelings. He shared that the fact that he wasn’t physically fit and the drama that followed after the news was revealed to the public could have played a part in it.

He shared that after his overseas trip, he wanted to spend time with his kids. “I wasn’t in tip-top shape I was in shape enough to be on the team and I felt like as a vet usually most vets don’t come into shape and I never not done that so I take that on as all you kids out there listening even adults always be prepared because you never know when you’re going to be called and that was a moment that God was trying to show me right there,” Howard said.

Speaking of Draymond’s special X post who was seemingly frustrated by the news leak, Howard said, “I don’t think all that stuff supposed to be public knowledge and I think that’s probably why they didn’t sign me a little bit like he was like man Dwight coming now we got all this unwanted drama cuz this was supposed to be just a private meeting.” Here is what happened.

Draymond Green was upset by the media gesture

Bleacher Report journalist Jason Dumas was the first one who revealed the news to the public. Fans were disheartened by the news and soon a debate broke out on social media. On the other hand, Warriors star Draymond Green was upset about the revelation that was supposed to be kept in-house. The podcaster expressed his unhappiness on his X handle and wrote, “One day, one day, everything won’t leak. One day.

Apparently, the entire meeting was supposed to be in secret. He even called out the reporter for the gesture. Congratulating Dumas for breaking the news to the public Green wrote, “Good for you btw Jason. But one day, EVERYTHING won’t leak. I have a dream.”

While he wanted to make it in the NBA, Howard was also exhausted after all the tough training during his first run in Taiwan. He wasn’t in shape and hadn’t even trained all summer. He even asked the other players to be always fit and ready to make a comeback into the league. Do you agree with Howard? What is your take on this? Let us know in the comments section below.
