Three NBA titles, 13 All-Star appearances, and a Hall of Fame induction weren’t enough. Dwyane Wade was desperate to add another achievement to his name this All-Star Weekend. The Flash won the Stance Spades Tournament that took place during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. It was the eighth edition of the tournament and he defeated All-Star commentator, Taylor Rooks.

It’s such a huge deal for him, his business partner hyped him with a fair bit of humor. D-Wade reveled in it and shared the same post on his Instagram stories. “Oh. This happened. Congrats on finally winning your own spades tournament… after losing 10 years in a row. Welcome to the winners circle. It took you long enough,” Lisa Joseph wrote. She gets to gloat as she’s won this tournament at least once.

D-Wade and apparel brand Stance have had a longstanding association for over a decade and the Miami Heat legend even has a sock line with them. It was Wade who casually suggested they could host a spades tournament during the weekend. From there, an annual tradition was born. Stance launched the Spades Tournament in 2015 to go along with the All-Star festivities.

What started as a small event hosting celebrities grew into a music and fun fiesta. “Now it’s grown… we need a warehouse,” Dwyane Wade once said. He claims he’s been playing spades since he was born and believes he’s good. Clearly though, his celebrity opponents are better because Lisa Joseph, who had already won in 2020, is teasing Wade for taking this long to win.

D-Wade is winning All-Star Weekend again

Thankfully, D-Wade is bringing out the winner talk too. “Winner!!!! Who wanna see us on the ♠️ table!??? NOBODY! I have a year to talk my talk,” he posted on Instagram with his shiny trophy that could go with his All-Star MVP trophy.

Even in his clip, Wade held off from the questions till he put on his Versace shades to properly bask in the winner’s glory. He was more humble while accepting his trophy, emotionally declaring, “I waited 10 years for this.”
