These NBA legends are winning hearts! Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul have once again come together for a great cause. The three important names of the league united to lead the Social Change Fund United (SCFU). After its inception in 2020 by the NBA trio, it was relaunched this year in an urge to make the world a better place. The news was shared by the official (SCFU) Instagram page.
The post is captioned, “Many thanks to @blackenterprise for amplifying our work. We’re excited to relaunch SCFU and build a future where every community thrives. Join us on this journey of empowerment.🔗 #ItTakesAVillage #EmpowerChange.”
As per sources, the (SCFU) will invest $230,000 in two new initiatives SCFU We Got Next and SCFU Legacy, that will further elevate and uplift the black community. While the SCFU We Got Next will provide essential materials and access to young people to build entrepreneurial skills, the SCFU will also contribute $125,000 to its partners, Gray Matter Experience, AllStar Code, and Rapunzl. The SCFU Legacy initiative will see a total of $105,000 contributed in six grants to small Los Angeles-based businesses. It is likely to start this summer with its first-ever 2024 cohort.

The funds raised will overall empower historically marginalized communities in the nation.

How does the Social Change Fund United (SCFU) help?
So far, the initiative led by the three has helped over 130,000 people. It provides scholarships, and financial assistance to companies and organizations that advocate for people of color, partnerships with nonprofits, and more. As per reports, the fund has already contributed $1 million in grants.
Speaking of the initiative, Paul said, “Our engagement within communities of color is critical to producing the impact and results of our mission.”

Speaking of the fund, SCFU Executive Director Aida Morrow said, “We’re excited to launch a new dimension of SCFU and to clarify our purpose of empowering underrepresented communities. Through this redirection, we hope to light the way for a more inclusive future to unlock potential, bring on new partners, and authentically uplift the communities in which we serve.”
Apart from carving out a successful basketball career, these NBA stars ensured to have an equally thriving business. With lucrative deals and good investments, the trio has worked hard to create a massive business empire. While Paul still has many more years in the league, that hasn’t stopped him from turning business savvy. On the other hand, both Melo and DWade have completely shifted their focus on business. The trio are also generous philanthropists.
