Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard left fans in awe by recording a season-high 32 points last night. His dazzling and powerful game led the Bulldogs to an 87-67 victory against LSU. It was his impressive speed and agility on the court that caught the attention of enthusiasts, including NBA legend Dwyane Wade. The 19-year-old is dubbed as the junior Flash as his game is reminiscent of the 3x NBA champion’s lightning-quick moves on the court.

Impressed by the guard’s skills and to show his approval, Wade reshared a clip of Hubbard’s game against LSU on his Instagram Stories, offering praise and recognition to the young NCAA prodigy. In the story, he wrote, “@jhubb3 You. Are. A. hooper.”

In his freshman year this season, Hubbard has been averaging 15.3 points, shooting 38.4% from the field and 35.5% from deep in 27 game played. The Bulldogs have a 19-8 record and Hubbard will be hoping to catch more eyes next month.

“He was staring at me for a minute and was like ‘I got it.’ The media came in after the game and he said my nickname, Flash. I rolled with it. I didn’t like it at first, and then I was traveling to different cities and arenas and everybody was calling me ‘Flash’,” said Wade in an interview.

It was also part of O’Neal’s plan to enhance Wade’s reputation and marketing appeal. Wade has always mentioned how O’Neal was the one to introduce him to the business world.

This move by Shaq soon proved to be fruitful as he started to gain recognition as ‘Flash’ by fans and media. The name was forever linked with Wade’s electrifying style of play. The 3x champion might not have liked it at first as he thought he wasn’t fast enough, but we can’t think of a more perfect and fitting name for the champ.
