Yao Ming might have nudged Yang Hansen to take some lessons from Dwyane Wade. But his previous comments about the next ‘Yao Ming’ caused some sort of storm among the media. During his appearance at the Greater Bay Area International Sports Business Summit in Macau, the 8-time NBA All-Star expressed “against expecting too much.”

“Sometimes I feel that people should not expect another Yao Ming, because I have many unique conditions.” He expressed how since his childhood his parents were very supportive. They were professional athletes so they could help him with training early on. But he still believes with a few more quality players the overall quality will improve. “If there are more players like this, our basketball level, league quality, and basketball market will be even better.”
