Think: NBA power couples. Where does your mind go? Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson. The hoops duo has been making waves lately, and for anyone who didn’t know about their romance, this has surely left your jaw on the floor. It wasn’t until earlier this year that they made things official, with Wilson even calling Bam her “safe space.” And, of course, Heat legend D-Wade hadn’t stopped gushing over the couple; his wife now also joins in, giving the lovebirds their flowers.

Gabrielle Union recently shared Bam Adebayo’s interview with the Miami Herald on her Instagram stories. Union wrote, “When both people can be amazing at what they do, can be thriving AND support each other’s journey to greatness…THAT’S what its all about.” And she couldn’t be more right. Bam and A’ja have been crushing it in their own careers while still making time to support and celebrate each other.

Wilson had a historic season, pulling off a triple crown by winning MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP: A super-rare achievement even legends like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Lisa Leslie never managed!

Ahead of the WNBA Finals, Bam Adebayo had made a bold wish for his girlfriend, saying,I want her to keep being and setting a higher standard for everybody to where people think it’s impossible until it’s done. I want people, when she’s done, to be like this is the greatest women’s basketball player to ever touch a basketball. From the time she touched it to the time she left.” Even though the couple tries to keep their personal life private, the love between them often shines brightest at basketball games.

Moments like the ones when we saw Bam handing A’ja her fourth MVP award. “To be able to give somebody flowers when they’re still here to smell them, that was a special moment for me and obviously everybody involved,” he said.

So, where and when did it all begin? Fans first noticed sparks during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Bam was sitting courtside, cheering A’ja on. Months later, she was in the crowd when the NBA star received a key to the city in Miami-Dade County, prompting Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to joke, “A’ja Wilson, she won gold in women’s basketball. I guess that has something to do with Bam and the Heat being here today.”

By February 2025, their relationship was quietly official. Bam was there for one of A’ja’s most significant career milestones: Her No. 22 jersey retirement at South Carolina. During the ceremony, she gave him a special shoutout, saying, “I wouldn’t be who I am today without the love, support, and sacrifices of so many people… especially my favorite Olympian from out of town.”

From courtside cheers to heartfelt public moments, it’s clear their bond runs deeper than medals, awards, and highlights. And that’s why even Dwyane Wade thinks the couple deserves some screen time of their own.

Dwyane Wade wants to see Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson in Hollywood!

The Heat legend couldn’t stop imagining a movie being made about Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson. He relived the moment when the hoops veteran walked in with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to hand A’ja her MVP trophy, and her reaction was pure gold.

Being able to see Bam be a part of that special moment for her, you know? I know that mean everything to them as they’re very private and as they should be. But when we get the chance to see these public moments that they have together, we all love it. And so, what’s this? Write a script. Write a movie. This is—they tried to write movies out of this script. This is bigger than love and basketball,” Wade gushed, getting more animated with every word.

Wade echoed Union’s feelings when talking about how perfectly they handle the spotlight. Neither Bam nor A’ja tries to overshadow the other. They let each other shine. “Bro, it’s a hooper’s dream story,” Wade said.

Even casual moments made the Heat legend smile. Bam’s nickname for A’ja came up during their chat. “Bam, cracked me up when he was just like, ‘Man, my little award case,’” Wade chuckled. And really, it’s no surprise because A’ja is a walking award case…

This season, the Aces’ veteran led the WNBA with 23.4 points per game, grabbed 10.2 rebounds, and added 3.1 assists, dropping 38 points in a playoff thriller just days before the MVP announcement.

Together, their story is so cinematic it practically begs for a Hollywood script, and if that movie ever hits the big screens, you can bet I’ll be in the front row for opening night!
