New Year means new resolutions and a new chapter of life. And the Wades know how to do it right! After celebrating a cozy Christmas with family and friends, the Wade family courageously hopped on the trending New Year tradition to start 2025. While Dwyane Wade felt excited about it, his youngest daughter didn’t appear to be very fond of it.

The 3x NBA champion just shared the pictures on his Instagram handle. The first slide shows a triumphant Wade, captured moments after their winter dipping. This has been a long-held tradition among many. On the fourth slide, Wade and his friends were seen running towards the cold ocean for the winter dipping. Kaavia, who was holding the hand of a woman who was likely Gabrielle, quickly ducked out to safety. We understand, little one!

One of the family members, who appeared to be Kaavia, recently fell sick as well. Wade shared a glimpse of his shopping list, and a certain item, “Vicks Vapor Rub,” hinted that someone might have caught a cold. “A sick baby and snacks,” Wade wrote in the caption of a different post, which made it more clear. So, it’s understandable why Kaavia might have wanted to avoid it.

However, Wade appeared satisfied. Both Wade and his wife, Union, are big on their mental and physical well-being. And this winter dipping into the cold ocean, which spurs both endorphins and adrenaline, is just about right. Moreover, it is also beneficial for someone who has pains and discomfort in their body. So, it is naturally the best therapy for Wade.

Union’s sister, Tracy Union, was also present in one of the pictures while, in another slide, Union rocked a cool “Happy New Year” spectacle. “24+ 1 = ‘25,” Wade captioned the post.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union took Kaavia to the beach

For Christmas, the Miami Heat legend and Gabrielle Union prefer spending time with family over lavish celebrations and expensive gifts. And the fun is evident. In a recent post shared by Wade, the parents were seen struggling to sing the classic Christmas carol “12 Days of Christmas,” which left Kaavia very disappointed.

The post was captioned, “A Wade Family Christmas East Coast Edition Before Kaavia Goes Solo 😂 🌊 ❄️ 🌲”

Union also shared the post on her IG story and wrote, “We cannot stop watching this!!! @kaaviajames is so over our incompetence.” Before that, the couple went to the beach with Kaavia.

While Wade and Union were enjoying the best time of their lives, the 6-year-old wasn’t happy. She seemingly preferred Hawaii over the beaches. @kaaviajames 😂😆😂 She wishes we were in Hawaii 😂😂,” Union wrote.

She hid her pouting face behind a puff jacket, but it was quite obvious. However, Union wants to add it to another of their memories together. This is definitely gonna be a therapy session in about 20 years,” Union shared. Well, that’s all until Wade posts another wholesome update about their celebrations.
