“Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is man up and tell Gabrielle Union that I’ve had a child with somebody else,” Dwyane Wade confessed in his 2020 documentary. In 2013, he and Gabrielle took a break due to the challenges of their work lives. During the same time, Wade got involved with Aja Metoyer, which led to the conception of his third child.

However, as we can see, ten years later, the star couple is still going strong. They have repeatedly faced rumors and scrutiny head-on, displaying love and perseverance throughout their 9-year-long marriage. While the couple were once again the focus of online speculation, D-Wade dismissed all the whispers with a clear message on his wife’s “very special” day.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union ignore ‘split’ rumors

Far from a ‘love-at-first-sight’ fairytale, their relationship had a slow start. The stars knew each other for two years before they started dating and even then, they took things at their own pace. After Wade’s confession, the couple reunited and tied the knot in 2014, welcoming Kaavia James into the world in 2018. Even during the backlash of Zaya Wade’s gender reassignment, Gabrielle and D-Wade stayed staunchly at each other’s side. Amidst recent online speculation, they once again displayed where their loyalties lie.

Wade married Union after his first marriage ended in divorce in 2010. It seems as though people wanted his second marriage to have a similar fate. After all, the internet has been buzzing with speculation about the couple. People have noticed that Gabrielle doesn’t wear her wedding ring anymore because it wasn’t seen in some of her previous Instagram posts.

Additionally, the rumors also said that Wade was recently seen with an unidentified woman and that their affair was allegedly private and intimate. In light of these events, Dwyane Wade’s recent post should kill the rumors.

The Miami Heat legend made a heartfelt post on his wife’s birthday, writing, “May your journey to peace become shared stories in your next memoir.” The 3x NBA Champion further wrote, “We love you and we hope that you’re having a day for you.”

Soon, Gabrielle posted a story on her Instagram, showing the incredible gifts that she has received from her family. She wrote, “Thank you. Feeling like a very special birthday babe.”

Wade and Union are often misunderstood

Five months ago, Gabrielle unveiled that as a family of independent individuals, they share the bill 50-50. While it was absolutely nobody’s business how the couple operated their household, this admission had the internet in a chokehold.  Similarly, after Zaya Wade came out as transgender, D-Wade and Gabrielle faced a lot of criticism from outside parties.

Earlier this year, the couple decided to part ways with Florida due to the state’s politics. “My family would not be accepted or feel comfortable there. And so that’s one of the reasons why I don’t live there,” the Miami Heat legend explained.

Even in the face of online rumors, the couple seems to be unbothered, and rightfully so.
