Nothing screams wholesome family time than leaving out the star of the night. That’s what Dwyane Wade experienced this Christmas. After being the star on the court, D-Wade was designated to the sidelines during the family Christmas party. He made sure to bemoan the family shenanigans on Instagram while fulfilling his honorary role.

“Just a family game day on Christmas Day, Connect 4 and Jenga. I’m a judge, though!” Christmas Game Night Judge Flash said. In the background of his video, everyone’s too busy in the giant Connect 4 panels to pay him any heed.

He followed it up with another clip to Mariah Carey’s iconic, “All I Want for Christmas.” He truly was left out as his siblings and kids were having group battles of rock-paper-scissors around the giant Connect 4 and Jenga tables.

His holiday solitude was shortlived. The Christmas games officiant was excited the next hour about the feast prepared by their chef. Of course, no Wade family gathering breaks without little Kaavia Wade’s recital of a Bible verse.

Ahead of the family game night, Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union had separate events to get to. The Bring It On actress partied with rapper O.T. Genasis, Paris Hilton and more at a Christmas carnival. Meanwhile, Wade had an appearance to make at TNT for the Christmas day NBA coverage.

Since it’s Christmas, the Miami Heat star took the chance to commemorate one of the coolest moments in his career.

D-Wade’s Christmas throwback

One day in NBA history, Miami was led by the combination of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Facing a formidable Kobe Bryant, The Flash pulled a no-look pass to King James who pulled a slam dunk.

Wade shared this clip along with another of James doing a no-look lob to him to celebrate LeBron’s career. “It’s that time of the year again,” D-Wade posted, getting nostalgic about his friend.
