Dwyane Wade had a spectacular night at the Met Gala. From rocking an exquisite couture look to walking up the stairs with his wife Gabrielle Union and finally having his fanboy moment. His fan-boy moment with British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran was caught on camera in front of the media. Well, luckily, he also got a little help and a nudge from the reporters.

While he tried his best to keep his cool, it was his wife who finally revealed a big detail that many might not be aware of. During the conversation with THR on the Met Gala steps, Union spoke about her new film Space Cadet with Emma Roberts and more talented stars. On the other hand, the Miami Heat legend, Wade’s fanboy moment could be seen in the clip as soon as the 33-year-old Multi-Platinum singer took to steps.

That is when Union shared Wade’s fondness for the singer. “First of all, he loves Ed Sheeran. Are you keeping it together right now?” Union teasingly asked Wade. She even shared that Wade used to listen to Sheeran’s songs before his playoff games. “Like, he used to play him before playoff games.”  Not only Wade, but another NBA player, De’Aaron Fox, is also a massive fan of the singer.

In response, Wade said, “I’m like, cool right. I’m keeping it real cool right now.” As soon as Sheeran ascended the steps and came closer to reporters, the lady interviewing the Wade couple encouraged the 3x NBA Champion to speak to the singer. We may get to hear about their conversation too.

Before having his fanboy moment, the couple also spoke about their outfit inspiration and their daughter’s reaction to it. While ‘The Garden of Time’ theme and the floral dress code might not have surprised fashion enthusiasts, Wade was thoroughly thrilled by it. In fact, his outfit perfectly aligned with the dress concept as he wore a custom lilac Versace suit paired with two brilliant Cartier necklaces on his right.

During the conversation, he shared, “I mean, first of all, we just try to listen to the theme, and in the theme we try to find our individuality but also to understand we coming together.” He further added, “And so for me I just want to be a beautiful flower in the garden. Can I be that for one night?”
