Dwyane Wade was first exposed to the business side of sports in 2004 when Shaquille O’Neal joined the Miami Heat. Since then, the business element has never really left the basketball legend. Even when traveling internationally, Wade’s business ventures follow him. For the 2024 Olympics, Wade had to travel all the way to Paris for his new role as an NBC analyst. However, he brought along Team Wade for a special When We Gather event for his wine brand.

Wade Cellars, started by Wade in association with Jayson Pahlmeyer, organized its most special event of the year, When We Gather, in Paris, among the city’s most passionate wine connoisseurs. One of the images on Wade’s Instagram was dedicated to JP Morgan, the event’s sponsor, while another showed the Wade Cellars crew having fun together.

“TEAM WADE TAKES PARIS,” Wade captioned one of his IG Stories. The 3x NBA champion’s wife, Gabrielle Union, who had also joined her husband for the Olympics in Paris, was absent from the event.

The Miami Heat legend shared numerous snaps and snippets from the event on his IG Stories. As part of the tradition, the host gave a speech to the guests about the significance of the event, followed by a lively gathering enjoyed together with good food, music, and wine from Wade Cellars.

Before the City of Light, the Wade crew was in Houston, where Shaunie Henderson and her family also joined him.

This marks the third edition of the event. In the first two editions, the Wade team traveled to more than 10 cities, bringing together like-minded individuals. While the 3x NBA champ is passionate about expanding the presence of his wine brand, he’s equally committed to making sure basketball fans at home get the best experience of the Paris Olympics.

Calling the Team USA Games seems to be a fun experience for Wade, who is quickly becoming a fan favorite. There are also talks about Wade potentially taking up a permanent position in the company, while the champ has shown his interest. It would be a refreshing beginning for NBC with Wade’s relatable and unique style of calling the games.
