Be it leading a wine brand or powering up a fashion label, Dwyane Wade is a man of many hats. One thing that he has yet to do in years is take on a full-time job as an analyst, largely due to his business commitments. However, that might change in the future. A famed sportswriter suggested that Wade’s debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics could lead some of the biggest broadcasting networks competing to hire him for a permanent spot.

Aside from Team USA winning its fifth consecutive gold medal, the Miami Heat champ made a splash by calling the games. Legionhoops recently shared Athletics’ Richard Deitsch’s special report claiming that the Champ “is expected to get “serious looks” from networks for a broadcasting job.”

As Deitsch mentioned, major networks such as NBC and Amazon, will be in the game in 2025 as new media rights holders. Both will likely strive to bring their best to the table and with Wade at the forefront, this competition between the companies might heat up.

Deitsch also praised the effort Wade had put into preparing for the Olympics, noting that the Heat legend worked with a special vocal and speech training coach to help him with his performance. Wade himself admitted that he spent considerable time learning the names of the Greek players.

Wade had admitted his awareness of the expectations bore on him as a former player himself – to be critical, to give “a little bit more info to the untrained eye,” and to bring more insights on the actions of coaches, refs, or players. Having his role cut out for himself, Dwyane is indeed ready to take on the job more permanent but first one factor needs to catch his eye.

New media favorite Dwyane Wade is interested in the job amidst criticism

The Miami Heat legend’s controversial take on pronouns during the game against Team Serbia sparked quite a stir on social media. However, the number of comments praising him soon began to rise. What seemed to click was the 3X NBA Champion’s transparency in his approach to calling live games, despite his limited experience in the role.

The last time Wade worked as an analyst was for TNT from 2019 to 2022. After leaving TNT to focus on his business ventures, it was unsure whether Wade would be interested in taking on this new role. When asked about it, Wade fortunately expressed excitement and interest. He admitted that if the right “compensationwere offered, he would be open to exploring the opportunity further.

NBC clearly has the upper hand after working with Wade this summer, but we can never be sure. It seems like NBC is already making moves, as host Mike Tirico recently heaped praise on Wade.

“We enjoyed listening to you. It was like you were watching the game at home and forgot you were on tv,” Tirico explained. Wade will have much time to decide on that.
