Now, the ‘Bring it On’ actress and luxury brands’ ambassador is back in Hollywood’s bright limelight, but this time, as a producer. Apparently, she is now bringing the infamous novel ‘The Idea of You’ to life alongside the Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway in the producer’s chair. Union gave her fans a sneak peek into the soon-to-be-released movie but also has a request from the viewers.

Sharing the trailer of ‘The Idea of You’ on her Instagram reel, Gabrielle urged her fans to, “Feel… everything.” She further added the details of the release in the caption, “#TheIdeaOfYou, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine, streams on @primevideo May 2nd. A @haveanotherprods & @welleent production ♥️ Such an honor to be a part of this project.”

She has previously mentioned the book during the COVID-19 lockdown to her close friend and NY Times best-selling writer and collaborator. He mentioned Gabrielle in his story, saying, “The joy of a great memory is that I can remember exactly when Gabrielle mentioned she was reading The Idea of You and now she has produced the film. Truly inspiring.”

She added, “I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the book sooooooo much and I hope everyone reads it before the movie comes out!” While Robinne Lee came out with the book back in 2017, readers acclaimed it majorly during the pandemic break. However, Gabrielle has a lot to say about this love story.

Gabrielle Union hopes people read ‘The Idea of You’ first

Previously, while discussing the novel in an interview, Gabrielle has spoken highly about how the good read is all about rediscovering oneself and challenging today’s culture with growing age. The avid reader in Gabrielle Union has ranked this novel by a fellow actor in the top ten favorite books. She also described it as a story that looks different superficially but has more deeper and complex undernotes.

Gabrielle added that reading it will not be a journey you can soon forget. Hence, she is moving forward with promoting the movie but also wishing the fans to read the novel as the story has multiple fascinating lessons.
