Though a bit late, birthday wishes are still coming in for Martin Lawrence. The Bad Boys actor turned 59 on April 16, 2024. But recently he shared a photo of cake-cutting on his official X account. Replying to the post came Dwyane Wade‘s wife Gabrielle Union Wade’s heartfelt birthday wish.

“Happy Birthday to the best movie brother I’ve ever had!!!@realmartymar,” she posted on ‘X’. It is worth mentioning that Martin played Gabrielle’s on-screen brother in the movie Bad Boys and she had a significant role in the second installment of the series. However, she did not make a return in the third installments of the series.

Appearing on The Breakfast Club radio show back in 2020, Martin spoke of Gabrielle’s absence from ‘Bad Boys for Life’. “I just think we took a different story turn,” he stated. His co-star Will Smith also added to this, mentioning the fact that there was no spot in the story. “Like where would that work for those characters—but definitely for Bad Boys 4!” he said.

However, Dwyane Wade’s better half has had multiple movie and TV show appearances since then. Some of the notable ones include the 2022 released ‘The Inspection’ and 2023 TV Series ‘Truth Be Told’. It is worth mentioning that, apart from acting, Union has also been the producer and executive-producer for some shows. And she has no intention of stopping as of now. 

Gabrielle Union Wade’s upcoming project

Union has a major project upcoming as a producer. The project involves a movie starring Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway, as told by Gabrielle in an interview to Alex Badia of WWD. “I have a movie starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine called ‘The Idea of You,'” she stated.

As per IMDb, the movie will witness a May 2, 2024 release. The website states the plot of the movie as, “a 40-year-old single mom, begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet.” Notably, Gabrielle is not the only producer of the movie. The other names on the team include Cathy Schulman, Belle Hope Dayne, Eric Hayes, Michael Showalter and Jordana Mollick.

Apart from this project as a producer, Union will also appear in the film ‘Riff Raff’. “We’re closing South by Southwest, and we open by beginning of May. And I just finished a movie called ‘Riff Raff’ with Bill Murray, Ed Harris, Jennifer Coolidge, Pete Davidson, Lewis Pullman. It’s pretty exciting,” she told Alex Badia of WWD. These upcoming projects hint that Gabrielle Union Wade is looking forward to keeping it as active as possible on the work front.
