In a recent podcast episode of “Vince Carter” YouTube channel, Vince Carter asks his co-host, “Who do you like in the East? Again, Philly, Boston, Indiana, Bucks, Hawks, and Magic are top 6 right now. What has caught your eyes about the teams that are on the rise?

His co-host and former Raptors teammate, Alvin Williams, says, “Of course, you go with Celtics right? The Celtics with what they have done bring Jrue Holiday and Porzingis then…that starting five is dangerous right, very versatile, you can put different lineups in…

Vince Carter then interrupts his former teammate, “It’s their bench Al. It’s their bench.” Vince Carter then asks Alvin about what his former Raptors teammate thinks about Porzingis playing in the starting five. Alvin Williams says, “I like it. Especially if you can bring Al Horford in off the bench. You can go small and bring Tatum and have him at the four. Today’s NBA… you can really be versatile and not ‘pay’ for it because they’re (opposite team) not going to take advantage of size or seek out mismatches.

Vince Carter then gives his take on the basketball being played in the Eastern Conference. Vince Carter believes that teams like the Philadelphia 76ers or the Milwaukee Bucks who have a clear size advantage might have an upper hand overall (in terms of a seven-game series/playoffs). He then talks about how he loves the playing style of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Alvin Williams then says, “The Sixers can grow into that with Embiid. You can play through Embiid…so the Sixers is very impressive to me dawg.” Vince Carter agrees with everything his former Raptors teammate says. He then talks about the Milwaukee Bucks, “They have some pretty good on-ball defenders over there. Like Pat Cannaughton.

However, the NBA legend also emphasizes the insane competition that is brewing in the East and that the Bucks need to put more overall work (defensively and offensively) into their game as a team. According to Vince Carter, “Bucks have all the pieces.
