Kevin Garnett is all set to relive his brief Hollywood career. The ‘Big Ticket’ starred in the 2019 movie ‘Uncut Gems’ alongside Adam Sandler. The Netflix/A24 production was a box office hit and received critical acclaim as well. As a result, the movie got picked for a re-release among multiple other beloved films. 

‘Uncut Gems’ will be re-released in IMAX theaters on May 22, 2024. This comes after a partnership between the $837 Million company, i.e., IMAX and Indie Studios. The studio will re-release some of its successful films on IMAX screens from this partnership until 2025 on a monthly basis. An Instagram post by ‘Complex’ confirmed ‘Uncut Gems’ release for the first time in IMAX.

2008 NBA champion Kevin Garnett re-shared the post in his Instagram story. “YESSS ZIRRR…Ayyyyyyyeeeeeee… LET’S FUXXXIN GOOOOO,” read the caption to the story. It is worth mentioning that the ex-NBA star had played himself in ‘Uncut Gems’ in a cameo role. He even received offers for other projects after this movie. But Garnett remained picky about the kind of characters he wanted to do.

“I feel like obviously the character that I played in the ‘Uncut Gems’ was myself. And I didn’t think that I can mess that up, and I felt confident in that,” Kevin Garnett had said in an interview with The New York Times. “Some of the things that have come across my desk are just things that I can’t relate to and I don’t feel like fit me. But I have very high interest. I would love to do more movies if possible,” the 2004 NBA MVP added.

Notably, though Kevin Garnett did not have any major project after Uncut Gems to his name, he sure did try his luck with the TV shows.

IMDB has listed the former DPOY as the executive producer of the 2023 Docuseries titled ‘Goliath’. The docuseries is based on the life of Wilt Chamberlain and his contribution to American history. Apart from this, the ex-Boston Celtics icon has also co-produced the 2023 released movie, ‘A Dark Way Out’.

Garnett has also been listed on IMDB for a guest appearance in one episode of the 2012 TV series ‘Go On’. He has multiple other minor involvements in multiple TV projects.
