Even Allen Iverson himself remains unfazed by the recent criticism directed at him. But the NBA insiders are not yet done with the derogatory remark thrown at The Answer. Just days ago, Brian Windhorst got scathing critiques when he mentioned Iverson’s game to be average in the current NBA scene. Numerous jumped onto their social media to criticize the ESPN employee. Some of the netizens even highlighted how Windhorst shouldn’t have commented on Iverson’s abilities since he was nonathletic. Recently, retired NBA player Jason Williams also fired his own shots at the analyst.

During his appearance in 4th&1, Williams dragged Windhorst’s neck into the conversation and said, “The only thing that really stood out to me about that was his neck. Like how can anybody say anything negative about Allen Iverson of all people, but just anybody in general, with a neck like that. That’s all I’m gonna say. That’s all I’m gonna say.”

Windhorst’s comment came after Iverson’s claim on Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast. “If I was to play in this era with it wide open, If I can average 33 in a season, I’m gonna take it up to 43,” said Iverson. He was clearly suggesting the various rules that have been changed in the league and making it more flexible as per his skill set. Despite the criticism that came from Windhorst, Iverson has maintained his calm. The Philadelphia 76ers legend finally opened up about it in his latest interview with Complex.

Williams isn’t the only one. Carmelo Anthony and other players who have witnessed the player’s prowess also stood up for him. However, the Answer seemed to have a different opinion.

“That’s his opinion. I mean, I’m not mad at that man. That’s the way you think. I’m not mad at him. There’s no way I’m gonna bash him or be mad at him or criticize him for the way he thinks,” said Iverson to the interviewer. The Philadelphia 76ers legend seemed to be confident about his opinion. While he respects the analyst’s take on it, the legend gently disagreed as he stuck to his previous statement. 

Those who faced off against Iverson on the court and are well aware of his dominance in scoring also opposed Windhorst’s comment. Late Kobe Bryant and Iverson’s rival once named the 11x NBA All-Star as the toughest competitor, he has ever dealt with in his career.
