There are Kobe Bryant worshippers everywhere in the league. From youngsters to veterans, the Los Angeles Lakers legend is considered an idol. Yet, it looks like no one can near former Celtics superstar Isiah Thomas. Well, his Twitter profile speaks for it. However, the 34-year-old went a step further today to show his loyalty to the ‘Black Mamba’. Thomas is just another sneaker buff, like all the ardent hoop fans out there. 

After the re-release of the Kobe’s for the Christmas season, all the attention is on Nike right now. A viral question on the internet is, ‘Favorite Kobe’s to hoop in?’ and Thomas did not hesitate to choose the Kobe 4s. The 5’9 guard tweeted, “Kobe 4 is the best HOOP shoe ever made!!”. Right after Christmas, Vanessa Bryant released the Kobe 4s once again, which was sold as soon as it was made available online. Well, now you know why Thomas believes so. 

The colorways of the Kobe 4s are fascinating enough for any basketball buff. It has the Lakers purple and gold, purple and white, and unique designs with colors like turquoise blue, dark grey and white, and olive green. But, the best one would be all the all-black kicks. Several NBA veterans have time and again worn it in the NBA and Isiah Thomas is one of them. 

Kobe Bryant’s tailor-made tribute to Isiah Thomas 

Isiah Thomas’s prime years were with the Celtics, where he averaged 24 points in a season. However, after an injury, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. For most of his career, the veteran wore Kobe’s kicks. Appreciating his consistency, Nike gifted custom-made shoes to Thomas when he returned from a long break in the 2017-18 season.

Named ‘Mighty I.T’, the full-maroon sneaker with a white base was spoken about a lot back during its release, which was a tribute to his Cavs debut.

Previously during his time with the Lakers, I.T. wore a Kobe 4s which he had bought in 2009. The shoes were not re-released back then, and it was found out that he has been using the shoes for nine straight years. Sadly, during his first game back against the Sacramento Kings, it fell apart. At least, this is a proof to show. This is how much Thomas loves the Kobe 4s.
