Athletes butting heads on the court is a pretty regular sight. A player and the opposition coach going against each other, however, is not something you see every day. This is what took place during the last LA Lakers vs Houston Rockets. While many were in absolute shock as Ime Udoka was ejected, an NBA veteran thrashed the Rockets for their obsession.

Lou Williams recently said that the Rockets are trying too hard for this image. As per Williams, they should channel their energy into becoming a good team, instead of trying to be known as a unit that provokes LeBron James.

Williams on Run It Back said that the Rockets have their priorities in the wrong order. The 37-year-old said, “That’s the energy I want this team to get away from, I don’t want them to be known for just being the guys that want to get under LeBron [James’] skin.” Further, he expressed that it is a forced rivalry between the two teams, especially looking at their agenda against LeBron.

Several players from the Rockets have tried to instigate the 4x NBA champion in the past. Williams said that the Rockets are not in “direct competition” with the Lakers and should try not to paint themselves with that image.

The ex-NBA star also said that this should not be all they’re known for and that “they gotta stop” as it is getting out of hand now. Udoka was ejected from the game after the referee caught both LeBron and him going at one another. Both individuals were handed a technical and because it was the second of the night for Udoka, he was shown the door.

LeBron has been an active NBA player for over two decades now. And during that time, he has gone against many people, but an opposition coach is not as common on that list.

LeBron James vs the Rockets

Udoka is not the only person on the Rockets team who has something against LeBron. Their 27-year-old forward Dillon Brooks is largely known for going against the Lakers superstar. Last season when he was with the Memphis Grizzlies, Brooks tried to get on LeBron’s nerves a few times.

From calling him “old” to giving death stares on the court, Brooks was heavily invested in his agenda against LeBron. While it could have been labeled as competitive trash talk, fans, and even the team got involved in the matter. And who can forget the “You’re just not that guy” message in the Crypto Arena, directed at Brooks on the big screen?
