A dynasty is crumbling, and people are eager to find someone to blame. While most fans are looking at some of the players on the Golden State Warriors roster, Lou Williams believes coach Steve Kerr should share the blame 50-50. Kerr has been with the Warriors since 2014 and this is by far his worst season.

It can’t be denied that a coach’s responsibility with a team like the Warriors is immense, and Kerr has been very successful for the most part in his tenure. However, this season, nothing seems to be going their way.

Lou Williams breaks down why Steve Kerr deserves to be blamed

On the recent episode of the Run It Back show, Williams was asked how much of the blame should go to Kerr. He said that over the last decade, the Warriors have had a lot of success. The credit for their success was shared between the players and the coach. As per Williams, his tenure with the Warriors has made him a Hall of Famer coach, so when things are not going as well, he should be made a party to the blame as well.

Williams said, “Everything that they have been able to accomplish, [Steve Kerr is] a part of it, everything that’s going wrong, he’s also been a part of it, so he has to share that blame”. Four of their seven trophies have been under Kerr’s tenure as a coach. Before they started winning titles again in 2015, the Warriors’ last title was in 1975. So his impact on the team becomes undeniable. However, over the last few months, they have been on a downward spiral and many see it as a fall of the Warriors dynasty as we know it now.

Williams’s opinion was co-signed by Chandler Parsons. He said that it is admirable the way Kerr has handled himself over the past few months. But now it’s time for the Warriors to start working on a plan that can potentially get them out of this slump. Parsons said that everyone has to step up if they wish to put this phase behind them.

“This is the most frustrated, disruptive, kind of annoyed team I’ve seen in a really really long time”, Parsons added. The NBA veteran said that if they don’t get to work immediately and regroup with a fresh mindset, the end of this dynasty will be a tough thing to endure for their fans.
