A $100 million gig is a lot of money, even for someone as wealthy as Michael Jordan. Allegedly, the billionaire turned down that offer for a Super Bowl ad. MJ was supposed to be paired up with LeBron James for the special project, but the Chicago Bulls legend said no. This news has been doing the rounds on the internet for a while.

While many people believe it to be true, there is no truth to any such news. In addition to that, this is not the first time that a $100 million advertisement offer has turned into news.

The Dunning-Kruger Times, notable for their satirical work, published a piece on the apparent $100 million Super Bowl ad featuring Jordan and LeBron. They confirmed that the rumors doing the rounds on the NBA superstars’ behalf are indeed true and that Jordan has refused a massive amount of money only to not work with LeBron. The source mentioned on the website is Joe Barron, who allegedly works at Nike as Vice President of Public Relations. However, this name is nothing more than a fictional character used in such satires only to emphasize the ‘core news’ and make it look more authentic.

As per the website, Barron said, “Jordan straight up said no. There was no way he was gonna spend any time on a set with LeBron. He calls the guy a crybaby 11 times a day on average.” So much for a made-up story, but the effort is worth admiring. Another storyline involving Jordan was pushed a while ago where Jordan allegedly refused $120 million only because he didn’t want to work with Disney. Jordan’s alleged response to that was “I like my reputation.” That ‘news’ was also a satirical piece. Interestingly, this isn’t the only time when LeBron has been targeted in these satirical pieces.

When Shaquille O’Neal refused to work with LeBron James

Another $100 million ad deal was refused because this time Shaquille O’Neal didn’t want to work with LeBron. Somehow, the NBA’s first active athlete to be a billionaire is always the butt of these jokes. For this one, Shaq refused to work with the 4x NBA champion because he was too dramatic. The actual fake quotes were, “I turned down $100 million to do a 30-second spot with LeBron. I don’t that kind of drama. All he does is whine and cry.” Now, clearly, Shaq never said such things, and as we all know, the Big Man will never turn down a $100 million deal for no reason.
