In a recent podcast episode of ?SHOWTIME Basketball?, Schea Cotton talked about Zion Williamson?s inability to master 1 aspect of the game and how that could jeopardize his NBA career. Cotton also talked about the basketball culture that exists in the new generation of basketball players.

He mentioned that the new generation players are worried about social media ‘blue ticks’ more than getting better at the game. Schea Cotton stated, ?Where is the realness, the authenticity? It?s gone”

“And how do you manufacture toughness??I see a lot of guys that can shoot, they can handle like crazy, athletic, do all these things? but when you get tested in the fourth quarter, where you at then?”?questioned the 41-year-old.

The high school basketball legend then taleds about Zion Williamson and one of the Pelicans star’s major shortcomings. Cotton mentions, ?As explosive as Zion Williamson is?they need to get him with a nutritionist and get his weight down.”

Schea Cotton stated that Zion Williamson walked into the league with $50 million and that he should use all of that money to work on his body and maximize his career.

Schea Cotton was one of the most popular high school prospects, who never made it into the NBA.

He was so good in high school that Nike already had a contract with him as a teenager. Standing at 6?4 and weighing around 220 pounds as a high school freshman, everyone expected Schea Cotton to be one of the most obvious NBA prospects from high school.

However, as he grew older his strength and size were not as advantageous as they were in high school. He was too short to be a forward and was not quick enough to defend players. Schea Cotton went undrafted in the 2000 NBA draft.
