Can a single night rewrite a legacy? In a league where careers are made and forgotten in the blink of an eye, a former NBA player once clung to one final shot—one last chance to prove he belonged. What followed wasn’t just a breakout—it was a cultural eruption. In the last few years, we have seen some elite players rise from obscurity. But nothing compares to the Linsanity seen in the New York Knicks. Just before the special game that birthed Jeremy Lin, the retired NBA player was told that this could be his last game in the pro league. However, the former NBA player was not yet done. Now, years later, the world is going gaga once again—as fans rush to grab a piece of history tied to a man who turned doubt into a global phenomenon.

Just a few days ago, former Knicks star Jeremy Lin returned to the NBA stage as a coach. He reportedly coached the Team G League in the Castrol Rising Stars mini-tournament at the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend. “See you soon in the Bay,” the former NBA player wrote on Instagram as he announced his return. Many might remember him from the time he played for the Knicks in the 2010-11 season. Knicks fans are thrilled as Lin announced the exciting release of his first-ever Hardwood Classics New York Knicks Swingman Jersey. This also coincides with the special month of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage and Mental Health Awareness.

“As I went through Linsanity … I started to see the world for what it is, which is a very broken world with a lot of injustice, with a lot of racism and a lot of stereotyping. And I started to realize, this is not something I should be running from. This is something that I need to be stepping into,” he told The Ringer. The jersey was in collaboration with Mitchell and Ness and the Fanatics, which is valued at $31 billion as per CNBC. As expected, sales took off, with the jersey going out of the shelf even before one could refill the stores.

Speaking of the rage, Linsanity began on February 4th, 2012, in a game against the New Jersey Nets. As mentioned earlier, there was immense pressure on him before the game, just one week before the deadline of his contract. He dropped 25 points with seven assists and five rebounds coming off the bench. And he quickly rose to fame. After all, he helped the New York Knicks finally secure a win after previously losing 11 of their last 13 games. So, it’s no surprise that fans are now making new demands for the company.

The rage over Jeremy Lin’s jersey is high!

The 36-year-old went undrafted back in 2010. Following this, he didn’t give up and went on to play in the Summer league. For more than 2 years, he continued to play for the Golden State Warriors and the D League team. Early in the 2011-12 season, he had the opportunity to join the Knicks. And then the moment happened. He had a massive fan following overnight. “Linsanity was such a time! love this honorable collaboration!!” a fan wrote, pointing to how the release taps into a cultural moment that still resonates deeply with many. For several weeks, Lin’s stunning performance continued to impress the fandom. He is still quite popular. But this isn’t the last.

Another fan demanded, “Bruh it’s already sold out! Restock it!” reflecting the unexpected surge in demand that’s turned the drop into a hot-ticket collector’s item. But the love didn’t grow overnight. In Lin’s following game against the Utah Jazz, he dropped 28 points, which further strengthened his position in the franchise. He made headlines. Well, it seems nothing has changed after more than a decade. “WHY ARE YOU SOLD OUT,” a loyalist who missed the opportunity desperately asked for the refill.
