“The good thing about being your dad is along with your brothers and sisters is I’ve had zero problems.” Shaquille O’Neal admitted to Myles that he and his siblings have never caused him trouble. He compared the situation with a few influential kids, who ended up in the news because of their erratic lifestyles. But that doesn’t mean Shaq has no regrets over his parenting techniques or his mistakes as a father.

I lost my family being crazy I never want my kids to be like that.” The Lakers legend accepted on Angel Reese’s podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel’ about the problems. “Sometimes people can’t handle that and sometime we as people can’t handle either. Like I’ve made so many mistakes on that side and I never want, especially my boys, I never want my boys to be like that. Like I said, all the time, I was a terrible husband. I was the worst husband ever and we’re just now getting back tight.

Many times before, Shaquille O’Neal has also expressed how he doesn’t want his kids to pursue a hooping career. According to him, the toll on any human is unprecedented because he hasn’t had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. That’s why, on the same podcast, he wasn’t thrilled with Shareef O’Neal signing a million-dollar deal.

“‘Hey man, I met Shareef, he’s a fine young man. Man, Shareef over here working in Reebok and he’s helping us out, he’s the bat…’ like that’s what it’s all about to me,” Shaquille O’Neal said on ‘Unapologetically Angel’.

The road hasn’t been easy for Shareef. He was undrafted in the 2022 G-League. And his performance in 2023 wasn’t noteworthy. After helping his father with the Reebok business, Shareef is back after a $1.1 million deal with Sacramento.

Shaquille O’Neal accepts his mistake meanwhile Shaunie Henderson shared her guilt

When Shaq’s ex-wife launched her memoir, her first few statements were a hotly contested debate on social media. The executive producer said, “Looking back, I don’t know that I was ever really in love with the man, but I was in love with the idea of being married to the man I had a family with.”

In Undefeated, she opened up about the real challenges of being married to a professional athlete, including the heartbreak of infidelity. “I felt like I failed them. I felt like I ripped that part of life from them and they had no choice. It was just, ‘Mom took away this.’” At the beginning after the divorce, it was difficult for her to accept the fact that it wasn’t her fault.

Similarly, when Shaunie expressed her sentiment about love, Shaquille O’Neal once again accepted his mistake. “I understand…I wouldn’t have been in love with me neither. Wishing you all the best. All love, Shaq.”

Although on his Instagram post, he did not mention who he was talking to, the timing of it probably needs no clarity. However, Shaunie and Shaq have made sure to co-parent their children amicably. Even Pastor Keion Henderson has created his own bond with the six children. To avoid the bitterness of any regrets, the 4x NBA Champion wants his children to not go through a similar situation.
