Forced to Bite Back on His Words, Charles Barkley Claims to “Never Worry” About a Place That Changed His Entire Life

Charles Barkley broke out as a player after his three years at Auburn University. He has always shown his support for Auburn since then, by constantly working with them and participating in all the events held by the university. Years after leaving his university, he never imagined his alma mater reaching the heights that it did.

Having not expected the results they achieved, Charles Barkley reveals how one moment in history changed Auburn University for the better. He then went on to praise the person responsible for the smooth sailing.

Barkley has high praise for Bruce Pearl

Charles Barkley was recently at the Bruce, Barkley, and Basketball annual golf tournament. He supported his alma mater and joined in with his alumni and sponsors. During an interview, Barkley mentioned that he is not worried about the team’s future.

He gives all the praise to Coach Pearl. Barkley said, “I never worry about our coach“. He says that Pearl is the best coach in the SEC. He then reaffirms that no other team can strategize better than Auburn, and for the past few years, the team has been doing as well as it could.

Coach Peral then talked about how their program has been the best in the SEC for the past six years. This is visible by looking at the teams that played the most games in NCAA tournaments over the years. They rank in the top 2 in both games played in the NCAA and also in most wins in the SEC.

Barkley’s expectations changed after the historic achievement.

Barkley said, “As much as I love Auburn and have high expectations, I never thought Auburn would make it to the Final Four“. Barkley also explained that his thoughts about the team changed when they made the Final Four in 2019. It was a moment that held great magnitude as it proved the excellence of the Auburn staff and system.

Making it to the biggest stage changed the way people perceived the system. Now they are also able to bring in high-ranked recruits and the future looks bright for Auburn.
