The electrifying Ja Morant is back. As the 2x All-Star was gearing up to face Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night, former NBA superstar DeMarcus Cousins expressed his happiness at seeing Morant back on the basketball court following his 25-game suspension.

The newest member of the Taiwan Beer Leopards said, “One thing that’s for certain is if you are a star, you gonna shine regardless. No matter how much they tryna dim your light, no matter how much mud they throw on your name – Ja Morant is him.”

“We have seen this time and time again… Let’s get back to what he is great at, which is playing basketball. Let’s get back to what he loves, which is this game. He went out and showed the world that he is a star regardless of the circumstances,” he added.

Morant, in his return, showed everyone why he is one of the best players in the NBA. After missing over a quarter of the season for off-court reasons, Morant returned as if he had not missed a beat and went on to drop 34 points in a win. The night was perfectly capped off by his game-winner at the buzzer.

Cousins knows exactly what it is like to have your name written off after missing some time from the NBA. But he is happy to see that Morant is back and reminding people of his talent. During the show Bully Ball, Rachel Nicholas and Cousins were also excited to witness Ja Morant go up against Haliburton, who in recent months has elevated himself as a star guard in the league. So how did the match-up between the two turn out?

Ja Morant was impressive yet again

After going 6-19 in their 25 games without Morant, the Grizzlies did not have it easy for them once Morant returned to the lineup. The first game was against the Pelicans, which they won by an insane last-second shot from Morant. But his second game was against the Indiana Pacers, who were just in the in-season tournament finals.

But surprisingly, the Grizzlies won yet again and are now on a two-game winning streak. With Morant’s return to the lineup, the game will become much easier for the rest of his teammates as well. This led to Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. going off for 31 and 21 points, respectively.
