There’s a reason why the Miami Grand Prix is one of the hottest events on the Formula 1 calendar. The spectacular event draws the biggest names across all fields, from entertainment to sports. One of the biggest names in Miami, this event isn’t complete without the annual attendance of Udonis Haslem. The pillar of Heat Culture that he is, Haslem is one of the must-see celebrity sightings of the Miami Grand Prix. With the F1 stars gaining some energy from the Larry O’Brien Trophy that was in the International Miami Autodrome, more NBA champions put the ‘grand’ in the Grand Prix.

UD and his wife, Faith, shared updates from the tracks. including flaunting their exclusive access to Red Bull Racing’s pit. They even hung out with other star athletes like Odell Beckham Jr. and track star, Fred Kerley.

He wasn’t the only basketball player among the singers, actors, footballers, and racers. Pistons legend and NBA champion Rip Hamilton was more excited about hanging out with Patrick Mahomes than the race that ended in a plot twist. 24-year-old Lando Norris of McLaren toppled fan favorite, Max Verstappen to win this title.

Other NBA stars at the race included LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Jimmy Butler who are enjoying their downtime since their early postseason eliminations here. They had another champion in the stands too. Haslem’s former teammate and current Miami Heat assistant coach, Caron Butler was at the course. Besides the sun-splashed energy of the Miami Grand Prix, Butler was soaking in the nostalgic vibes of 2011 present in the race.

The scene-stealer of the Miami Grand Prix was the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Caron Butler couldn’t help but test the weight of the shiny piece of gold himself. It feels heavier than when he won it with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. But, “he’s special every time he’s here.” The trophy took him back to the closeout game and Dirk Nowitzki’s game-winning shot before walking out of the arena with the trophy.

UD and Rip didn’t go on a nostalgic trip with the trophy themselves. Camilla Cabello and Keke Palmer also tried what it feels like to lift the NBA trophy. The racers themselves, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took some winning energy from the trophy. Piastri told the media that though the trophy brings up associations with Michael Jordan and LeBron James, the first thing the trophy brings to mind is Kobe Bryant holding the 2000 trophy in the locker room.

By all accounts, the Miami Grand Prix is a grand commercial for South Florida. This edition didn’t disappoint with its star spectators.
