Andre Iguodala retired from the NBA after the 2022–23 season with the Golden State Warriors, as revealed by the reason for his retirement.  “It’s valuable to my teammates, and it’s valuable to my coach, but it ain’t valuable to my pockets,”  the NBA champion said while in a discussion with Michael Wilbon.

The 40-year-old also explained how mentoring and coaching his 17-year-old have taken precedence in his life. Iguodala explained how the world perceives any athlete’s children negatively. Rather than giving them a chance, a barrage of questions is thrown at their faces, thus making their lives difficult.

The Warriors legend, being a dad, now understands and appreciates how Bronny James is carving out his legacy. The son of LeBron James will be part of the NBA draft this upcoming season and one trait of his has impressed Iguodala. “Bronny has a high IQ of basketball he’s just he’s just above others.

Iguodala also criticized the analytical approach to the games, only doesn’t provide you with the full picture. “This is why a Bronny fan because Bronny has a high IQ of basketball he’s just he’s just above others iq- wise. But those with analytics are they don’t see it the same way and so like Bronny is gonna have a place anywhere in the league because he can fit in anywhere because he’s like I’m play winning basketball and that’s a that’s a a trait that isn’t as valuable as it once was.” But where will Bronny James fit in the upcoming draft?

Bronny James and his options

James’ statistics for 2023–24 were not highlight-worthy, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. His field goal projection is only 36.6%. On the other hand, LeBron James has many times reiterated how he would like to play in the NBA with his son. According to reports, he could become an unrestricted free agent and partner up with his son.

Additionally, Bronny James’ freshman season saw a tragic beginning. During the workout in the summer, he suffered a cardiac arrest and had to miss 4 months of action. After returning to his minutes, were managed for the initial games. His role on the team was that of a bench player, and he couldn’t cash in on opportunities as much as he would have liked.

An earlier ESPN draft had him undrafted for the upcoming season, and that didn’t sit right with LeBron. “Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” LeBron wrote. “The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!
