As seen from his shows and public appearances, Kevin Hart is one chill person. So is it possible for a guy who is always in the mood for some good humor to be frustrated with a person from an unrelated field? Well, he has expressed it. And his frustration is with none other than ex-Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki. However, the reason is as hilarious as Kevin Hart.
Notably, the frustration was not specifically with Dirk Nowitzki but his character in the NBA 2k game series. Appearing on NBA Unplugged with Kevin Hart, the stand-up comedian stated, ‘This was early on in my NBA 2k days when I used to play… There was just a moment where they just had you fall… You were falling all the time on the game, and I never understood why.”
Taking the question in good humor, the ex-Mavericks star replied that the developers probably took inspiration for that from real life. Dirk stated his balance and his stability were not up to the mark and his core strength wasn’t there. “So I was falling a lot. Every time I did, like, a layup and somebody pushed me a little bit, I was like a turtle on its back,” Nowitzki said. He further joked that he had to play with the physique he was given. And his career stat-line reflects he did quite well with his physique.

Even at present, Dirk is associated with the franchise as a special advisor. From games played to field goals and from points to rebounds, Dirk holds the number one spot in Dallas Mavericks’ all-time leaderboards.

Dirk Nowitzki: Most reliable player in Dallas Mavericks’ history?
The only NBA championship the Dallas Mavericks have ever won came with Nowitzki in 2011. He also earned the 2011 NBA Finals MVP award. So it is evident what importance Dirk holds for the Mavericks. However, a 2010 article by Bleacher Report went to even greater heights for Dirk, mentioning him to possibly be the most valuable player in the NBA during the time.
The Mavericks had won no championship by the time of the article but it stated if Dirk had a better team, he would have a ring by now. “Kobe Bryant had Shaquille O’Neal putting up 29 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game( MVP in all 3 championships). Dwyane Wade had O’Neal putting up 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. Dirk had Dampier putting up a stellar 5 points 7rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game,” read the article.
