The Wade couple served looks at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party! Last year, the couple had the opportunity to attend the Academy Awards for D-Wade’s film. Wade was the executive producer of The Barber of Little Rock, which was nominated in the Best Documentary Short category. While he didn’t take home the award, DWade remains hopeful. This year, the couple had California in mind. The two joined other celebrities at the awards after-party for this noble cause.

Revolve and FWRD teamed up to host a charitable awards after-party at one of the all-new and famed cafés, Damn, I Miss Paris, which is nestled at 5160 West Adams Blvd. Los Angeles. This special event took place on March 2, the day of the 97th Academy Awards. The aim behind this get-together was to raise funds for victims of the Eaton wildfires that blazed through with relentless fury and caused vast destruction.

Another helping hand is the Motion Picture and Television Fund which is leading these relief efforts to provide as much help as possible to those affected by the fires in the LA areas. The Eaton Fire devastated nearly 9,400 structures and caused 17 deaths and injuries to the brave firefighters who worked day and night to bring the situation under control. Several celebrities, including Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Tasha Smith, Jeannie Mai, Keke Palmer, Keith Powers, and more, attended the event for the cause.

Union and Wade wore stunning and matching attire for the night. The retired NBA star styled his black suit with crystal-embellished Way of Wade sneakers, and the actress wore a short black dress with black pointed-toe pumps. Both Wade and Union shared snaps from the night on their IG stories. The couple had already previously visited the café during Wade’s birthday.

Dwyane Wade didn’t wish to celebrate his birthday because of the L.A. fire devastation

It was a tough time for everyone. Several fires damaged acres of land and caused injuries and heartbreaks to people. Many watched their houses or favorite spots in Los Angeles burn to the ground. Wade, too, was upset and heartbroken watching the devastation. He didn’t feel like celebrating his birthday during this time. His birthday was on January 17.

However, it was his wife who convinced him otherwise. Union encouraged the champ to celebrate his special day with his friends and loved ones. “My wife wanted to make sure that we do something. So we had a beautiful celebration for my 43rd birthday down at Jason and Dara’s new bar that has not opened yet called Damn I Miss Paris, it’s a vibe. But it was a time where we all needed to be together too,” Wade said on The Why with Dwyane Wade podcast.

And they decided to celebrate Wade’s 43rd birthday at Damn I Miss Paris. He ended the celebration with a golfing session. After the celebration and gathering with people during this difficult time, he realized it was the right thing to do. “To touch each other, make sure we alright. I think that was the biggest thing for me to be able to have family and friends. Everybody coming from different places to come back to LA and just to experience each other,” he said.
