Gabrielle Union turned Clover girl Isis to cheer for Team USA. As the United States women’s gymnastics team heads for the opening ceremony in Paris, Union filmed a heartwarming video to cheer up the women athletes. It might have started off chaotic but ended well with the Bring It On actress expressing her love and support for the team.

Giving a shout-out to the women’s gymnastics team and Simon Biles, Union said, “Team USA, we love you, we are cheering for you, we are praying for you, but you’ve got this. Jordan, Simone, Suni, Jade, Hezly: we are rooting for you. Let’s go, Team USA!”
But before that, there was a hilarious mishap. Her Clover Girl alter ego must have wanted to perform a little gymnastics stunt to hype up the athletes. Asking if that’s how it is done, Union did a quick somersault. However, she landed the wrong way and felt pain in her legs. The IG post is captioned, “Tried to defy gravity and landed right back on the ground! 😮💨 To my ladies.”

The cameraman, who is likely her husband Dwyane Wade, hilariously dropped the camera saying ‘not again’ and rushed to help. But that didn’t stop Union’s Olympic fever who returned to lend her words of encouragement.

Resonating with Union’s enthusiasm, Tokyo champion on floor, Jade Carey wrote, “ahh thank you!!” with hearts in the comments. The 24-year-old makes her second Olympic appearance alongside the legend, Simone Biles, the Tokyo Olympic silver medalist, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and Hezly Rivera as they eye 4th gold for the nation at Paris. And the 7X Olympic gold medalist’s coach says the atmosphere seems positive upon touchdown.

Simone Biles and Co. are ready to take over
The five athletes shone the brightest as they stood at the Bercy Arena for their official podium training. Biles performed a Yurchenko double-pike, the highest-valued vault as per the Women’s Code of Points. Defending Olympic Champion Lee appeared to be struggling with two falls, however, she concluded with a strong performance. Rivera shined the floor wearing her confidence while Chiles and Carey took the beam with finesse.

Team USA coach Cecile Landi, thus, believes, “The whole team, you know, is bright. It’s the Olympic Games… The rings are everywhere, you know? So we feel much better. The girls feel good. We feel good.”
The last time Simone confronted Olympics and vault together, it turned out to be one of the most difficult phases of her life. Experiencing twisties, something any gymnast would dread, she took the decision to withdraw from further events after day two of Tokyo Olympics. The team’s collective performance then on landed them a silver. Now years later, as she stands with an opportunity to become the most decorated gymnast in the Olympics, Biles asserts they aren’t backing down.

“Everybody probably looks at the team, like ‘OK, they went to Tokyo and this, this and this happened. And what are they going to do here in Paris? For us, I know we’re stronger than what we showed in Tokyo,” Biles said.
