Years of workouts didn’t go in vain. Dwyane Wade is one of the athletes who takes care of his body as if he’s still playing in the NBA. Not to forget, he recently flaunted his abs and ripped physique in a fashion shoot for Versace’s undergarments collection. It seemed to be reward time for the veteran as he made it into a coveted list by People magazine. What’s even more interesting is that Wade is the only retired NBA player to be included in the list.

Remember, while enjoying a brief beach vacation, the 3x NBA champ flaunted his ripped physique in snaps he shared on his Instagram handle. He’s making workout sessions in his 40s look easy. And hence, sure enough, at the age of 42, Wade landed a spot on the list of the sexiest men alive.

The list featured names and images of the sexiest men in all age categories, from 20s to 40s. Wade quickly snapped a photo of the magazine and shared it on his IG story, writing, “42!!!!” The Miami Heat legend is certainly rolling back the years, and if you’re following him on IG, you know it hasn’t been without effort.

Taking up a spot in the 20s category is the rising star and LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James. The 20-year-old recently made his debut in the NBA, making history alongside his father as the first father-son duo to play together on the same team and court. But we couldn’t spot them on People’s list together. Instead, taking the spot on 39 was actor James Lafferty and the only other active NBA players on the list were the Greek Freak and Jalen Green. 

This wouldn’t be the first time for the 2x league MVP to receive a magazine’s yearly honors. Previously, Giannis Antetokounmpo appeared in GQ’s 2021 “Man of the Year” issue, being named Athlete of the Year. And interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time for Wade either.

The Flash also made it into People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People all the way back in 2005. After Alonzo Mourning, he became the second Miami Heat player to join the list. Soccer star David Beckham, tennis legend Maria Sharapova, and former NFL player Tim Green are some of the athletes who were featured alongside him.

Coming closer to recent times, Wade was named “Sexiest Basketball Player Alive” in an edition of Glamour magazine. So, while it isn’t surprising to see Wade on the People’s List, it’s also rewarding and inspiring for men in their 40s.

Sharing the glam with Wade in People’s List of Sexiest Men Alive in 2024 are other celebrities and some familiar names as well. The top spot went to The Office’s John Krasinski. Barry Keoghan, Cooper Koch, and Ryan Guzman  are the other celebrities who also made it into the list.
