Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, ‘Nightcap’, has caught the attention of NBA buffs over the last few months. Most times, the duo has discussed the game with a few controversial topics, but this time, Sharpe decided to turn the table by looking back into some wholesome memories. All that Arenas did was nod his head to Sharpe’s question about wrestling, and the former turned cloud nine to reminisce about his best memories.

Sharpe questioned Arenas with a big smile, “Were you a wrestling fan?” You could see the NFL legend’s face enlightened, hoping for a positive reply from Arenas. The former Washington Wizards answered, “Yeah”, and Sharpe could not control his smile. The 2-time NFL champion just took over from there. He did not want to hear anything more from Arenas. He shared, “See I go back a little further than you. I grew up with the Georgia championship wrestling with Gordon Solie. So we had Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, we had Bobo Brazil, we had Ox Baker.

Sharpe added, “It was just like my grandfather used to just haul us around, you know, we go to Savannah, we go to Baxley. I mean they would come to wrestle, would come to little small towns and wrestle back then…Man, I just loved…Me and my cousin, we packed up that car many times and hauled the tail to Savannah”.

Well, Sharpe’s ardency got the attention of a WWE icon.
