The late, great Kobe Bryant and Nike go way back. Continuing the partnership and highlighting the legacy of the late Mamba, Nike is about to release Girl Dad shoes. The first look of the Kobe 4 Protro “Girl Dad” edition was recently shared by a sneaker enthusiast on Instagram, increasing the hype for the shoes.
The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Girl Dad” is going to be released on the 31st of May 2024. The retail price of the shoes is said to be around $190 on their release. The sneakers are designed with so much attention to detail. The “Bicoastal” midsole and black rubber sole of the trainers are the main features. The top is mostly dominated by the gray-green “Bicoastal” coloring.

The iconic Nike logo has also been made part of the “bicoastal” theme of the shoes. The Nike Swoosh is included in the same “Bicoastal” design, but it also contains outline details made of metallic silver. Whereas the logo of Kobe Bryant is placed at the back of the tongue. The color scheme for the sneakers is simple yet understated, making them a perfect pair to rock on a basketball court. The staple of the shoe, the “Girl Dad” tag is embroidered into the tongue of the shoes.

Kobe Bryant x Nike Protro also honored Gigi
The void that Kobe and Gigi left in the world can never be filled. There is no scarcity of honors through murals and jerseys, but through these continued collaborations, Nike does a great job of giving the fans of the Mamba a chance to hold a part of this legacy. Over the years, Nike has released several projects that celebrate the life and legacy of Kobe and Gigi. The 2023 Nike Kobe 4 Protro was inspired by Gigi and her spirit.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gigi,” adopted the color palette of the 2022 Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita”. Nearly in all white, the sneakers had a hint of black at the rear end and on the Nike logo. Released on the 1st of May, on Gigi’s birthday, the sneakers had Gigi imprinted on them at the back. Gigi’s jersey number, #2 was also imprinted on the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gigi. The sneakers were priced at $180 when they went on sale for the fans.
