The side quests of Shaquille O’Neal continue to increase as months pass by. However, the four-time NBA champion has decided to look back into one of his most famous ones. Have you ever seen Big Diesel star in a movie? Well, he actually did back in 2018. With Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving as the lead, the basketball movie was considered a box-office hit for the collection it made. Anyhow, that is not the most surprising part. Not only did Shaq put on an amazing performance, but also agreed to go naked in one scene.

The 51-year-old decided to revisit the moment from the movie as he shared it on his social media today with some high praise attached.

The league was stunned when Kyrie Irving announced he would be starring in a movie as a lead character. In addition, the hype went crazy when the cast alongside Irving was announced. Former NBA stars Chris Webber, Nate Robinson, and former WNBA star Lisa Leslie were roped in for a classic. And of course, Shaquille O’Neal was one of them too! 

A struggling basketball manager Dax, played by Lil Rel Howery, manages to form a team full of oldies, to win a tournament. Kyrie plays the titular character Uncle Drew.

The movie, ‘Uncle Drew‘, netted nearly $43 million in the States for the unique plot which it held. An additional $4 million came from the international box-office.

As expected, Shaq plays center but things take a turn in the movie when Big Diesel gets hospitalized all of a sudden. Nonetheless, Dax’s team somehow manages to lift the cup without the 7-footer.

In a scene where Shaq celebrates his team’s victory from the hospital, the Los Angeles Lakers legend went b**t naked. Shaq decided to post the scene on his Instagram today along with a heavy praise. 

The 51-year-old added in the captions, “uncle drew was my favorite movie since KAZAAAAM.”

What is ‘Kazaam’? 

‘Kazaam’ is another movie that Shaq starred in 1996, but as the lead character.

Playing the role of a genie, Shaq and Co.’s attempt at a comedy movie did not do well back then. Although it made a massive $19 million collection at the box office, ‘Uncle Drew’ exceeded ‘Kazaam’ in almost every way. 

However, O’Neal has previously admitted that it isn’t his favorite acting work from his illustrious career. Perhaps it’s time for Shaq to be the main star in a movie again.
