The famous couple in the sports world,  Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have been married for 9 years. But with demanding careers and children, they have experienced struggles, like any couple would. Recently, the athlete launched his debut production documentary. During the premiere event, Wade opened up about how he and Gab make their relationship work despite having busy lives.

The two have taken proactive steps to support and put each other and family first in their lives. Despite being in the spotlight and under constant public scrutiny, Wade dishes out about the balance he maintains between his career and personal life.

At the premiere event of ‘Shot in the Dark,’ the Miami Heat legend credited his wife Gabrielle for all the support and guidance he has received. He also spoke about how he maintains a relationship with the 50-year-old Hollywood star as a celebrity couple. 

Candidly speaking about his relationship, Wade shared, “We may go a month without seeing each other, definitely weeks for sure, That’s common. But you know what, we love each other, we try to make it work.”

He continued, “But I would tell people out there it’s definitely not easy when you got two people who have their own careers…and you’re trying to have your own family and own life. But you know, we definitely try to make it work.”

Clearly, like any relationship theirs has not been without hard work. The public is well aware of the fact that Wade’s relationship with Union has not always been all rainbows but what stays remarkable is that they have weathered all the storms together.

The two tied the knot in 2014. However, the months before their marriage have been crucial for the 3-time champion. 

While celebrities certainly don’t owe any personal details to the public, Wade chose otherwise. As someone who is always in front of the public eye, he felt it necessary to allude to the public about his son, whom he fathered with another woman while committed to Gabrielle.

Amidst all the criticism by the public and issues with Union, it must have been one of the toughest moments in the athlete’s life. Explaining his statement, he elaborated, “I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy. So I’m moving on. I’m in the public eye, so obviously that’s a part of it. It comes with the territory.”

Honesty in the relationship and transparency with the public. This star couple seems to be setting a shining example.
