“Yeah, I feel like, you know, the tide has been changing turning over the recent years,” Marcus said. Larsa Pippen also shared that dads are significantly more involved compared to her father’s generation. Although there have been times when Marcus was troubled by his dad’s fame, he doesn’t seem to hold any grudges. Rather, he attributes it to the generation.

He believes that during his father’s era, there was “more of a strike-based system,” he explained. Marcus talks about the change in shared responsibilities in modern-day parenting. Today fathers are actively participating in the growth of their children and the housework.

Marcus also said, “Like if you have more negatives against you then, you know, the court might rule in favor of the other spouse or something like that.”

This can be a reference to the legal system. Courts now ensure equal and fair involvement by both parents in their children’s lives even after divorce.

His Airness met Juanita Vanoy, the mother of Marcus, in 1984. Notably, this was also his first season in the league. They had three children together but unfortunately split up in 2006. It became one of the biggest divorce cases in US history as Jordan was ordered to pay $168 million to his wife.
