DeMarcus Cousins revisited an incident from the night he replaced Kobe Bryant in a specific game: A game that involved a light tiff between DeMarcus and Tim Duncan. The ex-Sacramento Kings player has admitted that he was taught a lesson by Timmy. Appearing on an episode of ‘Podcast P with Paul George‘, Cousins recollected the time he played alongside Tim Duncan in the 2015 NBA All-Stars game.

“He humbled me,” said Boogie on his experience with Tim in the game where Cousins had entered as Kobe Bryant’s replacement. The Black Mamba had suffered a season-ending injury back then. Cousins described the game as one of those instances where if he’d be having a bad game, he would get himself going somehow. “I’ll just start some shit. I got to get myself going. Like, walk by, I may just bump your punk-ass n*gga,” he said in the podcast.

Claiming what started with Timmy blocking a few of his shots, DeMarcus mentioned he started bodying Tim which even worked for him. “So I got me a couple baskets. Now I’m like, I’m trying to gas myself. Old-ass n*gga, yeah. This young n*gga coming,” said DeMarcus, taking a dig at Tim’s age.

However, this seemed to have no effect on the 5x NBA champion, who just responded by nodding his head. Tim’s reaction weirded out Boogie, he claims. Duncan, however, chose his own sweet moment to reply. “Man, Tim ran off 18 straight. 18 straight…Quiet, didn’t say a word. After the 18th basket, smacked me on my ass. Good game, young fella,” said Cousins, adding that he had no option but to walk away. However, this was just one instance between the two players. Timmy and Boogie have faced each other 15 times during regular NBA seasons.

Tim Duncan vs DeMarcus Cousins

Though Duncan leads the chart in terms of the number of matches won, DeMarcus has had better stats in the matches where the two players faced each other. Of the 15 regular matches they played against each other, Timmy won 13 matches from the San Antonio Spurs. Meanwhile, Boogie won just 2 matches playing from the Sacramento Kings.

However, DeMarcus had better average points in the 15 games standing at 16.9, while Tim managed to average just 12.5 points. DeMarcus has also managed to score higher points in a single game of all the games they faced each other in.  Boogie scored 29 points against Spurs in a game played on December 29, 20213. On the other hand, Timmy has had better numbers in the 15 games when it comes to assists and blocks.
