The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the worst teams in the history of basketball. Actually, this is not true. In fact, they are one of the best teams featuring extensive talent in all aspects of the game. And, this also makes them arguably one of the top contenders in the NBA. However, this wasn’t always the case.

Interestingly, the tables turned upside down for Minnesota back in 2018. At this time, the team was already suffering a postseason drought for the last 14 years. Not only this, but the team was also looking for an opportunity to win a playoff series for the first time since the 2004 Western Conference Semifinals.

“You check ball, played against each other and like in the playoffs that’s one to me Murray went crazy like yeah that’s when I was like oh this..for real. like I he was so he went crazy on us. He destroyed us like we couldn’t check him he had a move on me. He’s so f*****g cold,” said Rajon, highlighting Jamal’s prowess on the court during that time. But, did you know? This isn’t the first time a player from Minnesota has shared memories from the 2017-18 season.

Turning the tables for Minnesota

Just like Rajon, Teague also made an appearance on a podcast prior to Club 520. At that time, he shared his insights about the same matchup, and his explanation of the intensity of the match was equally entertaining. He first described Minnesota’s situation by revealing that a win would earn them the eighth seed, while a loss would end their journey.

And Jamal Murray’s performance took the situation from bad to catastrophic. “He started going crazy,” said Teague, acknowledging Murray’s immense trouble for the team. He added, “Murray started stepping back, hitting threes. I said, ‘I’m the reason we’re about to lose… I’m throwing the ball to Jimmy, I’m running to the corner.

He continued, “Minnesota already hated me, they gave me all this money and traded Rubio… Let me get to the corner.” At this point, Teague received the ball from Jimmy and passed it back without attempting a shot. However, with only a few seconds remaining, he hit a shot and gave his team the lead. And finally, the Timberwolves’ position improved as they progressed.
