Once, Genesis was spotted having lunch alongside her father, making people assume that the two had gotten much closer. As Genesis turned seven this year, the girl was seen celebrating a Knicks-themed birthday party. In a clip shared by The Shade Room, she also paid tribute to her dad by wearing a No. 7 Knicks jersey and cutting into a Knicks-themed birthday cake. 

Numerous fans found it adorable and showed love for the 7-year-old, while others were surprised to learn about Melo’s daughter. However, not all responses were positive. Angel Burks, the mother of Melo’s alleged daughter, received harsh criticism from some followers.

 Rumors about Melo’s infidelity first surfaced in 2017. Later, there was speculation about his daughter when Burks shared a picture of Genesis wearing a T-shirt with Melo’s picture. Some reportedly assumed that the infidelity rumors might have been true and could have led to the split between Melo and his ex-wife, La La Anthony.

Soon enough, people began to criticize the little girl and her mother. While Melo didn’t make an official comment, Genesis’ mother took to social media to defend her daughter. She called out the haters and warned them to avoid her social media handles.

“Calling me out of my name and disrespecting me is one thing, I can handle that. That’s water under the bridge. But calling my daughter disrespectful names… all in Dms is crossing the line,” Burks criticized the people. 

“Her father may not defend her, but I will ‘till the end. She didn’t ask to be here, and it doesn’t matter how she got here, she’s here. If you don’t want to see her stay off my page,” Burks wrote. The mother and daughter seemingly try to avoid public attention.

Carmelo Anthony got divorced from La La Anthony 

Rumors of Carmelo Anthony’s infidelity also caused stress and hardship for his ex-wife, La La Anthony, and their son, Kiyan. La La is a former MTV VJ. She is currently handling her business and her acting career. After attempting to reconcile for several years, the New York Knicks legend and La La ultimately decided to divorce in 2021.

However, after a growth spurt and countless hours of practice under Carmelo’s guidance, Kiyan’s skills have developed significantly. Even at his age, Kiyan draws a star-studded audience to his games. NBA player Ja Morant even watched him play at the Nike EYBL Peach Invitational Tournament.

Growing up in New York, Kiyan has a strong affection for the city. According to On3.com, he is ranked as the No. 1 player in New York State. The Long Island Lutheran guard made his parents proud by leading in scoring at the NBPA Top 100 Camp with an average of 28.5 points per game.
