The NBA history is replete with some of the most enthralling and intriguing moments. However, it comprises some hilarious stories as well. One of the most memorable moments was when former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce amazingly turned around a potentially embarrassing situation. And no, we aren’t talking about the time Pierce was taken off the court in a wheelchair only because of a bathroom emergency.

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce played 19 seasons in the league. He served some of the greatest moments on the court during his time. A resurfaced clip of Pierce narrowly escaping from public embarrassment came to fans’ attention recently. 

Paul Pierce turns a potentially embarrassing moment into glory

Players sometimes use the strangest of tactics to get into the heads of stars. There have been a few instances when defenders try to pull their opponent’s pants to gain an advantage or to slow them down. Such was the case with Paul Pierce as well.

During a game against the Indiana Pacers in 2005, Metta Sandiford-Artest, previously known as Ron Artest, pulled his shorts down. The 43-year-old was known for his menacing defense and off-hand tactics. But Artest’s attempt went in vain when Pierce pulled his shorts up and proceeded to make a 3 on his face.

Artest was also previously involved in several controversial issues. Nevertheless, fans didn’t seem to be too excited about Artest’s inventive technique and instead heavily praised Pierce. Let’s check out what Twitter users had to say about it.
