Who is Magic Johnson’s first spouse??
Magic and his then-girlfriend Cookie Johnson, often referred to as the NBA’s power couple, faced their share of challenges on the path to happiness. He attributed his deep love for basketball and his unwavering pursuit of championships as the factors that delayed his marriage to Cookie. Speaking fondly of his first love, he said, “I didn’t marry my wife for a long time because I didn’t think Cookie and I and Winnie could co-exist so I said I can’t marry you right now because I am married to basketball.”?
The comment arose in response to the host’s inquiry about the essential elements required for a successful Magic Johnson biopic. Despite “Winning Time” becoming a favorite among viewers, Magic Johnson himself, along with many others, expressed their lack of enthusiasm for the show. He emphasized the immense challenge of faithfully capturing the essence of what the Los Angeles Lakers achieved on screen. Although the odds may be slim, they are not nonexistent.
During the recent Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS event, Johnson clearly mentioned that he had never watched the HBO series. The Los Angeles Lakers’ story loosely inspired the show.
