Dwyane Wade is all about grand gestures. He certainly loves making his family happy. However, DWade doesn’t hold the same view when it comes to one particular day. This day is very popular and, most importantly, celebrated by many across the world. Even DWade and his family celebrated this extra special day, but it was in a very minimal and heartwarming style. This might have also been Wade’s idea, as he believes it’s an expensive occasion.

Well, flowers and chocolates aren’t very expensive, but remember, you’re supposed to send them to every family member. And this is exactly what DWade mentioned during his recent appearance on the Underground Lounge podcast. During a game, he was asked to name a hypothetical holiday for a ridiculous reason. He responded that it already exists, Valentine’s Day.

Wade expressed his confusion about why this extra day is celebrated. And before you gape in disbelief, Wade has a reason. “I don’t need  a day to tell me some flowers and stuff and do something nice for you brother if I’m him then I’m going to do that on a Tuesday,” Wade said.

He explained that it’s an expensive day since they have to buy flowers and gifts for their wife, mother, sister, and every family member. He did buy a bouquet for his mother on her birthday, but it seems Valentine’s Day is one occasion he has an issue with.

Last year, he even gave a unique marble to his Union as a Valentine’s day gift for her collection. He even prepared a singer who could do a sweet performance for the mother and daughter. “We grown as hell I don’t need no Valentine’s Day like why I’m forced to send you some stuff on this day like why how’s this a thing as an adult I got bills bro…Valentine’s Day is expensive, the 3x NBA champ with a net worth of $170 million argued.

That said, Wade did celebrate Valentine’s Day with his family—but in a very different style.

Union shared her Valentine’s Day celebration on Instagram. More than expensive gifts or treasures, the mother and daughter had a more meaningful celebration. Both created adorable paintings and put their own thoughts to it. Speaking of the heart she painted, Kaavia said, “This bring everything to your heart… Everything what’s caring special for you.” Her parents also gave her a bracelet box as a gift.

Later, the video showed the mother and daughter enjoying a cute tea party at Kaavia’s real Doll House. While Wade wasn’t present in the clip, he didn’t forget to drop heart emojis in the comments section. Union also made sure to give credit to her husband. “The best Valentines Day yet! Mommy and @kaaviajames Valentines Day planned by @dwyanewade ❤️❤️❤️ #happyvalentinesday,” she captioned the post.

While the Miami Heat legend might not know that he isn’t against Valentine’s day, he just loves to celebrate it everyday. His IG post full of wholesome moments with his family shows it!
