Despite this, Rodman once filed for bankruptcy as he was unable to pay child support. He later learned that his money had been stolen by his “family”. Recently, another former NBA star opened up about being scammed by the same impostor which led to a tough situation between him and Kevin Garnett.

When the Chicago Bulls legend failed to pay child support to his first wife, his transactions were checked. It was found he was scammed by the con artist he entrusted his money with. Unfortunately, he was not the only athlete to be deceived.

The former “advisor” of Dennis Rodman scammed another star

A “financial advisor” named Peggy Ann Fulford once scammed Dennis Rodman. Fulford was a popular name in the world of sports at the time and managed the assets of multiple athletes. So, of course, very few doubted her integrity. Notably, Rodman was so impressed by Fulford that he mentioned her in his Hall of Fame enshrinement speech.

Furthermore, he even called her “family” during the speech and noted she was taking care of him.

Little did Dennis know, she was stealing from him. Unfortunately, by the time he found out about it, she had already bankrupted him.

Recently, NBA veteran Rashad McCants disclosed how he was duped and when exactly he found out. The former Minnesota Timberwolves player is a regular on the Gil’s Arena podcast with former NBA star Gilbert Arenas. During a recent episode, the hosts asked McCants what he did with his first check.

While Rodman was conned after his career was over, MacCants was “robbed” at the beginning of his career. He recounted, “I got robbed my first check.

The former guard stated that he hired Peggy as a financial advisor as he and his family wanted to empower a Black woman. He then said that he found out about her after he could not buy donuts.

McCants added, “I was getting Ricky Hayes by KG bringing donuts in. And one day I couldn’t bring donuts in because my account was zero.”?

The 2005 NCAA champion noted that Kevin Garnett was furious he didn’t bring donuts, and he was not ready to believe that his NBA teammate didn’t have any money.

However, the light was eventually shed on her scams.? In 2018 a Houston judge sentenced Fulford to 10 years in prison.?

The case revealed that the New Orleans woman had also scammed NBA player Travis Best and NFL athletes Ricky Williams and Lex Hilliard. The ruling also stated that Peggy would have to pay nearly $6 million dollars to her victims.
