During a recent interview, Shaquille O’Neal spoke about his love and passion for music. While the generous philanthropist candidly shared details about his struggles, hard work, and achievements, he also revealed the inspiration behind all his work. During the show, Shaq revealed that he was in a “funk” after his retirement but music helped him and embarked on this journey.

So the host asked whether O’Neal has any advice for people facing similar struggles like switching careers in their 30s or 40s. The four-time NBA champion advised people to relax and pursue the things that make them happy.

He revealed, “Everything I have done in my career, is me being on punishment saying ‘I am going to do it.’ On certain days I wanted to be Dr J.” Expressing his admiration for the $120 million worth American rapper, he added, “On other days I wanted to be LL Cool J. Other days I want to be the smartest philosopher in the world and other days I want to be Bill Gates. So everything that I do is just me focussing on my dreams.”
