Shaq loves movies just as much as anyone. Perhaps even more if it’s a comedy. In fact, he has shown his passion by trying his hand at acting, and he’s actually pretty good at it. However, we haven’t seen the NBA legend on screen for quite some time. After starring in a few films, he shifted his focus back to his business ventures. But the 4 x NBA champion recently teased about a new movie that has been in the works.

The official Instagram account of Make Believe Village shared a post, which was also shared by O’Neal on his personal handle. The post appears to be about a movie, and the poster even features O’Neal holding a boy upside down. The movie, according to Rotten Tomatoes, takes us through the life of the owner of a used car lot in the hood. Therein, he tries to raise money to repay one of the most notorious gangster loan sharks.  However, we are not sure of O’Neal’s role in the movie yet, but seems like he will be the owner of the car lot.

“Introducing “The Car Lot,” the first movie Make Believe Village partnered with MBVStudios! 🎥 This groundbreaking project gave young creatives the opportunity to work side by side with industry pros, learning the ins and outs of filmmaking!” the caption read.

We all know how much Shaq loves supporting young, aspiring artists, and this seems to be the theme of the film. As per the caption, the project brings together creative experts from different domains. Just a few days ago on his podcast, O’Neal mentioned that he would be very interested in doing a comedy film. And this drama-comedy fits perfectly with his wish.

The caption further read, “From set building, lighting, writing, and directing to budgeting and even catering with our very own MBV food trucks, the kids mastered it all. But the best part? Every skill learned on set is transferable to other industries. We’re not just creating filmmakers””we’re training the whole kid!”

The Lakers icon will be featuring alongside Lem Collins, DC Young Fly, Jamal Woolard, and more. If Shaquille O’Neal stars in this project, it could mark his acting comeback. But before we gear up for Shaq’s return to the big screen, let’s take a look at the movies he’s been a part of so far.

Big Aristotle’s short stint on the big screen

One of the films that the Los Angeles Lakers legend starred in is Steel, based on the DC character John Henry Irons. Although O’Neal’s effort was noted, the movie didn’t perform well at the box office, earning only $1.7 million against a budget of $16 million.

Another film appreciated by his friends is Blue Chips, which also featured his former teammate Penny Hardaway. We certainly can’t forget his appearances in Jack and Jill, Grown Ups 2, Blended, and The House Bunny.

O’Neal also starred in another basketball film, Uncle Drew, where Kyrie Irving took the lead role and O’Neal played “Big Fella.” The cast also included Reggie Miller, Lisa Leslie, and more. Apart from Kazaam, O’Neal has made several cameo appearances. If he’s making a comeback, we can expect something unconventional.
