Some people take the concept of ‘age is just a number’ way too seriously. Isaiah Thomas is one such person who seems to not believe in age limitations. While the NBA community witnessed a player bidding farewell to the game at 30 this year, Isaiah Thomas is looking for a comeback at 35. The 2x NBA All-Star is making all the efforts to prove that he still has plenty of basketball left in him.
In a similar attempt, Thomas re-shared a reel by Salt Lake City Stars in his Instagram story. The reel gave Thomas’ 3.9 million followers on Instagram a highlight of Isaiah taking a three-pointer in his recent match against Grand Rapids Gold, playing from Salt Lake City Stars. “The quick speed up of my feet made him back up just a bit haha the details of the game. FREE GAME! I LOVE THIS HOOP SH*T,” read the caption to the story by Thomas.

It is worth mentioning that Isaiah Thomas played his last NBA game with the Charlotte Hornets in 2022. And now, after a two-year gap, the 35-year-old player is hoping for another shot at the NBA. In fact, this was the reason that he signed with Salt Lake City Stars for the G-league. As per an article by The Athletic’s Jay King, Thomas stated his love for the game being too high behind the reason for signing up with Utah Jazz’s affiliate team.
Thomas had even made a subtle approach to his 2015-17 franchise, Boston Celtics, for his comeback in February this year. “My leadership alone would put this team over the hump! I don’t even have to play a single minute. Just give me a jersey LOL,” Thomas replied to a fan on X, suggesting the Celtics sign him up. This shows Thomas’ seriousness about his return to the NBA.

The interesting part about these stats is that at the age of 35, Thomas is performing better than his counterplayers in their 20s. And the efforts seemed to have converted into results as well.
