The 2023 NBA free agency has seen some major decisions from some of the biggest superstars in the league. While some stars moved to a different team, some stayed with the same. Notably, superstar Bradley Beal joined the Phoenix Suns while Kyrie Irving re-signed with the Dallas Mavericks. NBA champions Denver Nuggets lost important rotation players Bruce Brown to the Indiana Pacers and Jeff Green to the Houston Rockets. However, the former agent of Michael Jordan is not impressed with how things have unfolded in the free agency so far.

David Falk is frustrated with players requesting a trade

Michael Jordan had an incredible agent in David Falk. He stood by his side over the course of his entire playing career. Falk has negotiated some of the biggest contracts in NBA history and has also represented more than 100 players in different disciplines. The veteran agent recently shared his disappointment with the 2023 NBA free agency during an interview with GQ.

Falk initially talked about the lack of movement of superstars which could transform a team or the league and expressed his discontentment. The former agent was not happy about the current free agency rules which make it harder for stars to move. Furthermore, he was frustrated with the superstars requesting a trade.

?You don’t need free agency,? Falk said, ?because these teams, the minute the guy says `I don’t want to be on the team,? they accommodate him.? He added, ?I think it’s terrible.?

Falk was clearly unhappy with the teams adhering to players’ trade requests. In recent times, superstars like Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Damian Lillard requested to be traded.

Notably, Harden has requested a trade thrice in his career so far. Initially with the Rockets, then the Brooklyn Nets, and now, with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, this time, the 76ers are looking to keep the 2018 NBA MVP. Even though he reiterated his request recently, the 76ers are still hoping to hold on to his talents.

David Falk’s response to the critics of Michael Jordan

David Falk has been a close friend of Michael Jordan for decades now. He helped MJ earn over $100 million over the course of his NBA career.

The former agent has multiple times shown his loyalty to the six-time NBA champion. After the release of The Last Dance docuseries, Falk had an interesting choice of words for MJ’s skeptics. ?If you are not legally blind and you watch this for 10 hours and don?t realize this is the greatest player of all time, you should probably start watching Roller Derby,? Falk stated.

That is one way to show your support.
