When Big Diesel is out and about in Dallas, he shops for ice—the expensive kind. Shaquille O’Neal was back at his favorite store in Texas that he doesn’t already own recently. There’s a good reason why he loves the artist behind this business. He was awed by the customer service so much, he had to express it. And with a disclaimer about how rare this show of appreciation is.

Not long ago one of his closest friends added a generous gift to one of his most expensive collections. Shaq topped it with a new addition of his own.

Dallas-based jewelry store, Solomon Brothers, has been visited by celebrities for dazzling reasons. The jewelers customize massive necklaces and bling that would appeal to another hip-hop mogul. Or even an NBA legend with a side hustle in deejaying and rapping. Shaquille O’Neal has been visiting this store for his blingy needs for a while. And clearly, he’s very comfortable with the staff here.

The store and the designer, AK’s official Instagram pages shared an update from Shaq’s latest visit. This time, wearing his LSU tee, he’s picked up a necklace with a diamond-encrusted ‘DIESEL’ pendant befitting his 7’1″ frame and an equally chunky chain to fix it. It’s so massive, it looked normal against the Big Aristotle’s giant handspan.

He loved the results too. After AK put it on him, Shaq declared, “I’ve never kissed a man before,” before planting a big smooch on his friend’s head. Funnily, AK was only going for a hug but Shaq stopped him for that kiss. This is straight out of the romcom.

He slipped in a little promotion for Solomon Jewellers, who’s a favorite of hip-hop artists like Big X, too. He’s always returned the favor by boosting the business every time he shops.

AK has created another Diesel necklace for him before. But his best creation yet was an “O’Neal Boys” set in 2022 with a pendant for each of Shaq’s sons. While picking up his pieces, O’Neal (who officially became a commercial director this year) wrote, produced, and directed an impromptu commercial with AK and his team.

We could anticipate the debut of O’Neal’s newest necklace at his next DJ Diesel event. Or maybe another piece that a friend gifted him.

Shaq’s collection got bigger

AK complemented this Instagram Reel with Rick Ross and Meek Mill’s new track, “Shaq & Kobe.” Not a coincidence as the muse of the song released a remix of the same. The original artists arrived at the TNT studio for the premiere of the remix bearing early Christmas presents for the Inside Crew.

Rozay presented Shaq with a massive spinning MMG necklace. O’Neal loved it so much, he flaunted it on his hand with plans to wear it to the movies and his all-time favorite spot, the hookah bar.

One take at a time

I was 7 when I saw 'Space Jam' but didn't know till the third rewatch the lead actor is actually a living basketball legend. It was while studying journalism that my friend would go on about the Warriors from Golden State. Keen on athletes' personas outside their arenas, it was Stephen Curry's confidence and philanthropy that drew me to follow the news on NBA pros and explore sports media.
