It is as ‘crazy’ as La La Anthony mentioned in her Instagram Story. Carmelo Anthony‘s son was one of the many talented players who participated in the 6th edition of the Slam Summer Classic. While the 17-year-old has already begun to collect honors, the latest event also drew one of the most star-studded crowds.

More like a gathering of New York Knicks legends. Years apart in representing the franchise but Carmelo Anthony and Jamal Crawford wouldn’t give it away in a clip shared by New York Basketball. The two were filmed exchanging a few words and sharing a laugh while the crowd seemingly awaited the game to begin.

“Carmelo Anthony & Jamal Crawford at Rucker Park for Slam Summer Classic featuring Kiyan Anthony and Dominique Wilkins’ son Jacob. John Starks also courtside,” New York Basketball posted on X; which was later reshared by the 3x NBA Sixth Man of The Year himself with a couple of fire emojis.

As suggested, it was a mini Knicks union of different generations. Apart from the mentioned, Allan Houston, Deuce McBride, Jacob Toppin, and Tyler Kolek also pulled up at the event right on time.

Melo was obviously at the event to support his son Kiyan, as was his ex-wife, La La Anthony. The 17-year-old made his debut as a captain of the Black Team and his mother had just one word to describe the wild and energetic experience at Rucker. “Rucker was CRRRAAZZYYY today!!!”

Kiyan Anthony kickstarted the Slam Summer Classic in the classic fashion

La La shared a few more glimpses of the event on her Instagram handle, including one of her favorite moments to capture – Kiyan can be seen taking selfies with his fans. Although quite common, the Perfect Find actress is always surprised by how much her 17-year-old is loved by fans. Evident from the thrill she shared after witnessing Kiyan’s popularity among foreign fans during their recent trip to Japan.

Back on the court, the four-star recruit had a great start, teaming up with FIBA Under-17 Women’s World Cup MVP Jerzy Robinson to win the 2v2 tournament. Off of one, he also took home the NBA 2K title in a long battle on the first day.

Equally impressive was AJ Dybantsa, who secured the Gatorade title. Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins’ son Jacob Wilkins who was also part of the event, went home as the Slam Dunk contest winner. Though it was a 81-83 losing side for Kiyan Anthony on the second day, he wrapped it up well with the team at the Times Square.
